Position Title: Capital South Regional Fellow
Reports to: Regional Assistant, Capital South
Location: Washington, DC
Fellowship duration: March - May, 2020 (flexible)
Compensation: $15/hour, 10 hours per week (flexible)
Position
J Street is seeking to employ an efficient, effective and dedicated fellow in our Washington, DC office this spring. The fellow can be an undergraduate student, graduate student, or a recent graduate. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity to better understand and get involved in J Street’s work.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn development skills and political organizing as
well as to deepen one’s knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This position is ideal for applicants interested in community organizing, non-profit development, or political advocacy.
Responsibilities Include:
• Researching potential new supporters and donors
• Updating and managing our supporter databases
• Assisting with donor and J Street volunteer relations via email and over the phone
• Assisting with event tracking, logistics, and materials preparation
• Other tasks as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Google applications, especially Excel/Google
Sheets; experience with database management a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict a plus
• Commitment to J Street’s mission
