First Nations Project has been on the front lines at Standing Rock, organizing First Nations to resist extractive industries, create alternatives to global warming, and support the rights of LGBT people and people of color.  Our next phase is even more ambitious with plans to clean up defunct uranium mines on reservation lands, convene a tribal gather of all 500 First Nations on the planet, and bring our fight for equal rights to the White House and the new administration.

We need a consultant to help us build our database, write effective fund-raising emails on ActBlue. Must be goal oriented, able to manage self, vendors, and achieve goals without hand holding. Most our work is on the reservation so the director often checks email once a week and needs everything completed A to Z with no excuses. Hourly pay is competitive and you will also be able to attend protests, intertribal gatherings and cultural events on a diverse number of tribal lands. 

You should have the following before sending a resume:

1.) At least two years experience working on database management and fund raising for political campaigns and progressive causes. 

2.) Experience with ActBlue and/or other online fund raisers.

3.) Demonstrated expert level ability to exercise excellent political judgement and discretion.

4.)  Applicants must have demonstrated ability to negotiate, build consensus and strategically disagree. 

5.)  Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication, time-management, and problem solving skills.

6.) Ability to prioritize and handle variety of projects simultaneously.  

7.)  Experience with IE campaigns and VAN preferred.

8.)  Experience with digital programs, new voter contact technologies, and program testing and evaluation a plus.

9.) Must be goal driven and self sufficient. We are in the field 95% of the time so need someone we know is getting things done without constant checking in.
