For Our Future 501c(4)/PAC is a people-driven organization committed to serving progressive values and causes that are larger than ourselves. By working with local leaders and organizations, we will create permanent and lasting change all around us.
For Our Future in Virginia is seeking full-time salaried Organizers for an aggressive organizing and canvassing program throughout the commonwealth. Organizers will be responsible for executing the statewide field plan in their assigned region. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Positions start in February and last through November 2018.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for issue advocacy, engaging diverse communities and building political power.
Responsible for extensive direct voter contact, including but not limited to phone calls and canvassing.
Ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met and exceeded.
Ensuring that all required reporting is accurate and timely and that all regional data is entered on time.
Representing the campaign at community events and meetings when advised by the campaign.
Qualifications:
Community organizing experience preferred but not required
Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN preferred
Knowledge of Virginia’s political landscape or experience in Virginia preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred
Proficiency in a second language (preferably Spanish) a plus
Basic computer literacy, database skills, and access to a reliable portable computer
Ability to be flexible and work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment
Must have reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects
Ability to thrive independently and in team settings
A sense of humor
A can-do attitude with a winning mentality
