Campaign Managers for Iowa State House Races

The Iowa House Truman Fund is hiring Campaign Managers for targeted Iowa State House races. Each Campaign Manager will oversee an individual campaign for the Iowa House of Representatives, working to ensure victory on Election Day.  This is a fantastic opportunity to gain management experience while working in one of the most targeted states in the country.  Help the Iowa Democrats take back the House in 2016!

 

Job Responsibilities:

- Manage a campaign for the Iowa House of Representatives, including field, finance, and communications efforts

- Work with statewide Truman Fund staff to develop winning strategies in your district

- Write and execute comprehensive campaign plan, including detailed fundraising, field, and communications plan

- Staff candidate during fundraising call time, plan and execute fundraisers, and organize fundraising mailings

- Cultivate and manage a team of volunteers and interns to assist with outreach efforts, including phonbanks and door-to-door canvassing

- Engage with community leaders and local activists in order to build a coalition of supporters throughout your district

- Work with statewide Truman Fund team to develop and execute effective communications strategies

- Staff candidate at events throughout the district

 

Qualifications:

- At least 1 cycle of campaign experience

- Willingness to travel throughout your district

- Ability to work long hours, including some nights and weekends

- Strong communication, writing & organizational skills

- Sense of humor and strong work ethic
