Position: Technology and Content Strategy Intern
Location: New Orleans, LA, Washington, DC or Los Angeles, CA preferred
Hours and Duration: Quarterly 2016; 10-20 hours per week
Compensation: $1,200 per month for 20hr/week interns. $600 for 10hr/week interns (20 hours a week). Academic credit may also be available depending on your institution’s requirements.

Position overview: Fission Strategy seeks a Technology and Content Strategy Intern to support the website development team. This project will provide hands-on opportunities to learn web development management and project management best practices and help leading nonprofits and social enterprises develop impactful user experiences for their constituents.
Responsibilities will vary based on experience, expertise, and interest and may include: content development and management, web development task management, analytics collection and analysis, quality assurance and testing, researching emerging technologies and best practices, and developing recommendations for content strategies, user experience design and website infrastructure. Applicants with web development skills will also have opportunities to take on development tasks.
Academic credit may be available for this position depending on your institution’s requirements.

Candidates must be reliable and willing to commit for 3 months. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a strong work ethic, be willing to learn, and be excited about the opportunities new media provide to support advocacy campaigns. Candidates must have their own laptop, and be comfortable working independently.
