Crude Accountability

Position: Communications Manager

About the Organization

Crude Accountability works with local activists and civil society groups in the Caspian and Black Sea regions to ensure equitable and sustainable development by advocating for respect for the rule of law, and environmental and human rights for populations impacted by hydrocarbon resource development.

Crude Accountability seeks to empower local civil society, protect the unique, threatened ecosystems of the Caspian and Black Sea region, and hold accountable all those exploiting the region’s natural resources. We advocate for transparency, environmental due diligence, and respect for human rights through provision of information, technical assistance, and access to international mechanisms for redress. Crude Accountability offers practical and analytical solutions to the pressing environmental and governance problems facing the region by fearlessly supporting those that seek help in their fight for justice. We stand in solidarity with each village, each political prisoner, each activist under fire, and see it as our role to raise these voices to the international community.
