Chicago-area Democratic Congressman seeking a Field Director
to begin immediately.
Applicants should optimally have at least two cycles of campaign field
experience in progressively increasing roles and proficiency with VAN software.
A well-qualified applicant for this position will be someone with exemplary
time management, planning, organization, communications and interpersonal
skills who is detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple
projects. This is not an entry level position.
The Field Director will be responsible for developing and overseeing all
aspects of an extremely aggressive field program, as well as long-term planning
and execution. Other responsibilities will include recruiting, training and
managing a team of field organizers, volunteers and interns, managing and
reporting data on a daily basis, as well as general campaign work. The Field
Director will report to the Campaign Manager.
This position is based in the Chicago-area, and entails significant personal
interaction with the candidate and other surrogates. Irregularity of hours is
to be expected, including evenings and weekends. Salary and benefits are
commensurate with the applicant’s experience, but are competitive. Applicant
