Job Opportunity: 

The Ohio Democratic Party is gathering candidates for Finance Director positions for 2015 municipal elections.  We are seeking a experienced fundraisers who will serve as a strategic assets to the campaigns.  He/she will work in concert with the campaign manager, the candidate, ODP and party officials.  The Director’s responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

 

·         Planning and executing events and other fundraising activities

·         Call time – including all related preparation, database management and follow up

·         Building and maintaining relationships with donors and potential donors

·         Making direct solicitations from state and local donors through multiple channels and mediums

 

The Finance Director will have responsibility for developing and executing strategic fundraising plans and meeting performance milestones, with continual progress toward larger organizational goals.   Additionally, he or she will be an aggressive innovator of new ideas, approaches, and opportunities to raise the necessary funds.

 

Qualifications:

·         A minimum of 1 year prior political fundraising experience

·        Prior experience with targeting contributors and follow up management

·        Ability to manage details and stay on top of multiple tasks, large and small, at once

·        Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills – the ability to speak persuasively in a charged atmosphere;

·        A strong commitment to Democratic ideals and issues

·        Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and NGP
