Beto for America is seeking a full‐time Scheduling Director for Iowa.
The Iowa Scheduling Director will be a senior member of the Iowa
campaign team. The Scheduling Director will be responsible for
overseeing the Iowa Scheduling Department and putting together the
schedule for in-state travel for Beto O’Rourke and other campaign
surrogates. The Scheduling Director will also serve as the primary point
of contact for in-state scheduling requests. The Scheduling Director
must be able to work in a team environment and communicate well with
others.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the scheduling department staff and interns.
- Build and manage the official campaign schedule for the candidate and surrogates.
- Work with the Political, Communications, and Organizing teams to
develop a scheduling strategy that ensures the campaign’s goals and
priorities are being met on each candidate and surrogate trip.
- Track invitations, requests and deadlines, develop a strategy to
determine which invitations the campaign accepts or declines based on
the schedule and the campaign’s priorities.
- Ensure the compilation and preparation of briefing materials are completed and provided in advance of campaign events.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly over the phone.
- Ability to write well and write quickly.
- Be willing to work long, irregular hours.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Have the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Have exceptional organizational skills.
- Be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Have strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Apps.
- One campaign cycle or previous scheduling experience for an elected official is strongly preferred.
- Experience in doing advance work is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable motor vehicle.
- Must relocate to Des Moines, Iowa.
