Field Organizer Job Description 

 

Overview In the 2018 midterms, Jason Crow beat 5-term Republican incumbent Mike Coffman by 11%, winning a seat that no Democrat had ever held since its creation. Colorado’s 6th congressional district is considered to be the state’s only swing district and is a targeted race for both Republicans and Democrats. Congressman Crow is seeking reelection to continue representing Colorado’s CD6 in Congress in 2020. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Identify, recruit, and train groups of volunteers to conduct voter contact 

• Meet and exceed strict daily, weekly, and monthly goals 

• Help create and run events virtually and possibly in-person 

• Train and mentor volunteer leaders • Use digital voter contact tools  

• Ensure accurate collection and entry of data 

• Provide direct supervisor with quantitative and qualitative reports as part of an ongoing evaluation of the program’s success 

• Act as a liaison to a wide variety of civic, political, and constituency groups  

 

Qualifications and Skills  

• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds 

• Committed to providing experiences that are inclusive, safe, fun, and empowering for our volunteers 

• Ability to work independently and in team settings 

• Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment 

• One year of campaign experience or community organizing experience preferred but not necessary

• Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN preferred but not necessary 

• Basic computer literacy and understanding of common political tech, databases, and software  

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Access to reliable transportation and possession of a valid driver’s license, cell phone and laptop. 

• Must be able to work remotely given the COVID-19 pandemic 

• Spanish speaker strongly preferred 

• Colorado experience strongly preferred 

 

Job Type: Full-time 

Salary: $3250 - $4000/month
