A Democratic campaign in top-tier Indiana Congressional District 02 is seeking a senior level Field Director who will work closely with Campaign Manager, consultants, and other core members of campaign team to lead the campaign’s strategy in this targeted district.
The Field Director will be responsible for running a data-driven voter mobilization program through the implementation of a district-wide voter contact effort. Looking for ideal candidate who is detailed oriented and has demonstrated success in organizing and outreach. This position reports to the Campaign Manager. Firm commitment through Election Day 2020. Responsibilities include:- Lead voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement and GOTV efforts that are flexible and responsive to the evolving public health situation.
- Train, and mentor a team of Field Organizers on effective volunteer management, data entry, and effective campaign strategies including but not limited to recruitment, door-to-door canvassing, cutting turf, digital canvassing, and other successful field tactics
- Produce regular field data reports for Campaign Manager and Political Director
- Build daily/weekly phone banks and text banks with support of Digital Director
- Execute the robust field plan developed for the last two months of the campaign cycle, covering staffing timelines, win numbers, voter contact goals, trainings, and ballot chasing
- Oversee all aspects of direct voter contact: canvassing or lit drops, phone banking, text banking for persuasion, and turnout efforts, with special attention to digital outreach in light of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with local party leaders and activist groups throughout the district
- At least two campaign cycles of field experience, three preferred; Experience in field with red to blue race is a plus.
- At least one campaign cycle managing staff;
- Experience in digital organizing is a plus
- Proficiency with NGP VAN, Votebuilder, MobilizeAmerica, and Hustle, among other applications
- Must be able to work collaboratively and be able to juggle multiple priorities at a time
- Must have strong written and communication skills, be detail oriented, and have excellent time management skills
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities
- Flexibility to work weekends and long hours is required
- Previous experience working in Midwest is strongly preferred
- Applicants must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel district
- Ideal candidate is bilingual and speaks Spanish
