Dear Amy,
Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared some personal updates: A routine mammogram revealed I have breast cancer, my beloved CoKiyovu home to Women GAIN in Rwanda was illegally raided, and our team members were assaulted this past week.
All the while I’m continuing the work to support the people who power Democratic and progressive politics - this GAIN Power Community. I will need to take some time off soon, and already I’ve had to postpone some GAIN Power programs - including tomorrow's career fair. It’s hard for me to admit I can’t do it all but I’m realizing more and more I need more help. I’ve poured my heart and soul into the GAINiverse - and this community. My biggest worry isn’t for my health but it is it the disruption to this important work and the many from here at home to East Africa who rely on our work.
