Progressive DA Candidate seeks NYC-Based constituency organizer

A boldly decarceral candidate for Manhattan DA is seeking a qualified political/comms assistant to handle multiple political and press duties on the campaign. This position will work directly under the candidate and senior members of the campaign team. The ideal candidate will have previous political/press/comms experience, as an intern or as staff, on a campaign, government office, or equivalent. 

Candidates must be highly motivated, organized, and energetic, and must have a very high attention to detail, exceptional people skills, good sense of humor, and be politically savvy. We’re looking for someone who is a self-starter and does not need micro management, but can carefully follow directions. The position will require long hours and work 6 days a week.

Duties include: Help with endorsement questionnaires, managing interns, help manage political relationships for the candidate, managing campaign surrogates, organizing constituency groups  compiling daily morning press clips, monitoring the media throughout the day, maintaining media lists, responding to press inquiries, drafting press releases and talking points, aiding with campaign research, and assisting the team with other projects and tasks as needed. 

The position is based in New York City, but due to COVID-19 all staff will be working remotely until further notice.

Salary range is $2,500-$3,500 commensurate with experience.
