Top tier red to blue race in Southern California is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven and qualified individual to serve as Deputy Field Director. Our campaign is seeking someone who will build upon what we accomplished in 2018 by expanding and growing our grassroots movement to bring real representation to the 50th congressional district

 

Deputy Field directors will report directly to the Field Director. The position entails managing and training field organizers, ensuring field metrics and plan are met, and investing in field organizers to efficiently and effectively perform their duties.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Regularly reaching out to active volunteers, and continually working to identify new volunteers through phone calls, texting, and other practices
  • Build relationships with local volunteers and host both 1:1 meetings and neighborhood meetings to create community
  • Hosting events in each neighborhood to identify new volunteers
  • Training volunteers to conduct voter contact through canvassing, phone calls, and other means
  • Personally executing voter contact by canvassing events, doors, making phone calls to voters
  • Daily data entry of organizing and voter contact data
  • Daily reporting of qualitative and quantitative information
  • Managing, training and developing the organizing and volunteer management skills of field organizers
  • Supporting field organizers to train and develop volunteer leaders and volunteer teams.
  • A successful DFD should be a team player and thrive in an ever-changing environment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

·      Experience managing staff and/or volunteers

·      Ability to multitask, create and achieve goals, meet deadlines and creatively solve problems.

·      Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

·      Ability to positively process feedback and adapt accordingly

·      Willingness  to thrive in a high-pressure environment that may include long hours, nights, and weekends

·      Valid Driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation

·      Experience with a campaign as an organizer, fellow, or volunteer is a must.
