The Victory Institute is hiring a bilingual (English/Spanish) Program Associate to work on our international and domestic leadership development and training programs. Please feel free to pass along the link and description below!

The Victory Fund and Institute works to achieve full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people by building, supporting, and advancing a diverse network of LGBT public leaders.

Through its training and professional development programs, Victory assists hundreds of individuals who go on to influential careers in politics, government, business and advocacy each year. Many of Victory’s trainees and candidates join the more than 1,000 openly LGBT elected and appointed officials now serving around the world.
Job Description

We’re seeking a program associate who speaks and writes both English and Spanish fluently to help us deliver top-notch training and executive development programming to openly LGBT public leaders and future leaders. Victory’s suite of programs is aimed at growing the skills and leadership capacity of participants from college-aged to mid-career public servants.

The program associate will support the director of international programs (50% of time) and director of domestic programs (50% of time) in coordinating, executing and recruiting for all Victory Institute programs. The associate will be part of a team of dedicated and committed staff who work hard at ensuring out leaders have the tools they need to succeed. Successful candidates will share our passion for that mission.

The program associate will:
  • Communicate regularly via e-mail, phone and video conference with Spanish-speaking partners.
  • Coordinate outreach and recruitment for domestic and international programs in consultation and cooperation with the director of domestic programs and the director of international programs.
  • Coordinate travel logistics as needed for speakers and program participants.
  • Provide customer service for new applicants, including maintaining relationships with applicants over the course of the recruitment/job selection process.
  • Develop and sustain external partnerships to increase the capacity or resources of Victory’s programs.
  • Assist in writing grant proposals and grant progress reports, including both narrative and financial content.
  • Conduct assessments for future program locations, dates and participants.
  • Provide general support for programs and for the director of international programs and the director of domestic programs.

Qualifications


The program associate should be a solid researcher as well as a creative thinker, and should enjoy developing solutions to problems in the course of maintaining a system of gathering and organizing data. The ideal candidate should have:

  • Demonstrated passion for LGBT equality.
  • One to three years of professional experience.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish. This is an essential requirement.
  • Solid organizational and administrative skills and experience juggling multiple tasks.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ease with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, including demonstrated experience comfort with templates, formatting and data visualization.
  • Dependable memory for details about people and their accomplishments.
  • Experience working with databases such as SalesForce and HRM is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
