Copywriters Needed

Are you a good writer? Are you a political junkie? Do you want to help elect more Democrats up and down the ballot and all across the country?

The premier direct mail firm in Democratic and progressive politics is seeking applications for our copywriting team. Our clients include Democratic senators, governors, members of Congress and municipal office holders, as well as labor unions, pro-choice organizations, and environmental groups.

 

This position is a cycle hire that ends after the 2020 election and is based in Washington, DC.

 

The ideal applicant:

 

• Writes well, quickly, and correctly
• Is a stickler for correct grammar and has an eye for proofreading
• Thinks visually and creatively—can you marry a clever headline to a compelling image?
• Keeps up with the news and politics
• Is passionate about electing Democrats and advancing progressive goals
• Works well with others and lacks an ego
• Has some experience working with campaigns, communications, press, polling, or policy

 

Because our work is all about Election Day, our workload ramps up significantly in the run up to November. As we get closer to Election Day the hours get longer and the pace accelerates. This is NOT a 9 to 5 job -- there will be lots of 14-hour days and working weekends in the fall of 2020. Anyone familiar with the campaign lifestyle should be prepared. Nevertheless, we have fun doing this, and we are very excited for 2020.

We are looking for a senior and junior writer, respectively, depending on experience.
