Summary
NARAL Pro-Choice America is looking for a responsible, dedicated, resolutely pro-choice Campaign Organizer to work with NARAL Pro-Choice America’s SCOTUS Project.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
The Campaign Organizer will work with the Director of Strategic Relations to implement a program that will engage pro-choice elected officials and incite pro-choice activism Tennessee. The Campaign Organizer will be responsible for tracking anti-choice elected officials on-the-ground over summer recess and organizing pro-choice activities in the state.
Responsibilities
Elected Official Tracking: Engage in activities to hold Republican candidates accountable for their public statements and actions. The activities are including, but not limited to:
- Filming and recording public events in Tennessee
- Editing footage or audio files
- Watching and recording appearances in TV outlets or radio shows, and reading blogs and traditional print publications for mentions and discussions of the candidate.
- Summarizing the media and appearances they monitor, and for flagging emerging and persistent narratives -- including but not limited to problematic rhetoric and imagery, as well as falsehoods and misleading narratives.
Community Engagement: Represent NARAL at community events and recruit volunteers and activists in key cities around the state.
- Recruitment and turnout of volunteers at events and festivals across the state, with a particular attention paid to Nashville and Clarksville.
- Building and maintaining a membership and activist base over the summer.
- Developing and implementing plans for grassroots organizing in key cities.
- Coordinating educational outreach and event turnout with campus and community groups.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with digital platforms, event management, and project management desired.
- Camera/editing experience preferred but not required.
- Current driver’s license, registered vehicle, and proof of valid insurance required.
- Effective grassroots or political organizing experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of direct action organizing required.
- Knowledge of and strong commitment to reproductive rights issues and NARAL Pro-Choice America’s mission and goals;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Good academic standing;
- Ability to commit to working at least 25 hours per week
- Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously;
- Ability to produce concrete results with minimal supervision;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team.
Other Info
This is a temporary full time position with NARAL Pro-Choice America based in Tennessee. The salary for this position starts at $15 per hour.
Start and end dates are negotiable. We are looking to fill this position ASAP.
