New York State Senate Campaign
The Field Operations Director ensures the campaign gets its message out through direct voter contact. Their main responsibility is to develop a comprehensive plan that includes door knocking, lit drops, voter registration, online organizing, and phone banking in order to ID and persuade voters about the candidate and coordinate the GOTV program. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Draft/Implement a winning field plan that outlines the campaign’s efforts, including door to door canvassing, phone banking, and volunteer recruitment and management.

• Ensure that volunteers are taught current best practices for voter contact in a persuasion environment
• Train, coach and mentor Field Organizers, canvassers and volunteers in best practices for volunteer recruitment, retention and mobilization
• Create specific accountability measures to identify areas of improvement
• Oversee ballot access petition gathering process in June, including recruitment and training of volunteers and verification of signatures
• Ensure all voter contact data is entered into campaign data platform
• Engage with local stakeholders and community organizations to build support
• Oversee local Intern and Fellowship program
• Create non-fundraising events for candidate by networking and coordinating with local community activists and organizations. Ensure execution of signage and visibility around all events
  

Qualifications:

• At least two cycles of campaign experience

• Strong working knowledge of VAN

• Familiarity with Google Drive suite, especially Google Sheets

• Proven ability to train and manage

• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, volunteers and local stakeholders from a variety of different backgrounds

• Ability to maintain a level-head in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
