The Sierra Club, the nation's largest and most effective grassroots environmental organization, seeks a Chicago based
Regional Communications Manager for our ground-breaking, history-making Beyond Coal campaign.
The Regional Communications Manager is responsible for implementing and coordinating regional media strategy, and participating in the development, planning and coordination of regional media work and manages Communications staff in the region.
Other responsibilities include conducting media training for field, chapter staff and volunteer activists with the Sierra Club Training Academy, works closely with the Deputy Communications Director, Conservation Managers, and Department Directors on implementing national media work. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience in media relations, with some background in grassroots organizing and staff supervision. BA/BS degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or related field; excellent oral and written communication skills.
