Overview:
Oversee
and support the activities of all We Are One New Jersey county centers.
Responsible for program development and outreach, facilitating the day-to-day
operation and management of centers.
Must be a trained and accredited immigration practitioner for
non-profits (Board of immigration Appeals (BIA) Accredited). Must be a Notary
Public in the State of New Jersey
and be able to speak, write and read Spanish.
Assist in the development of training and outreach programs for county
centers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversee and
support the operations of county centers and supervise staff, ensuring
that all client matters are handled in manner that is sensitive to the
cultural, linguistic, racial, ethnic, religious and other characteristics
of the participant population.
- Maintain
Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) Accreditation and Notary Public
License.
- Plan and conduct
in-house trainings and education workshops with Center’s staff on key
legal issues in coordination with pro-bono attorneys.
- Develop
comprehensive three-year strategic plans.
- Coordinate
fundraising and grant writing to increase the capacity of county centers.
- Responsible
for data quality assurance and timely reporting of contract activities and
monthly reports to grantees.
- Coordinate
meetings with center staff to review progress of objectives and
benchmarks.
- Assist in
the development of U.S. Citizenship Test Training and outreach programs to
diverse communities.
- Ability
to assist individuals with their Citizenship, DACA and waiver fee
applications, and conduct intake of wage and hour cases.
- Notarize
documents as needed.
- Develop
Standard Operating Procedures and Manuals (SOPs) for the Center.
- Responsible
for staff files and records.
- Develop
plans and implement bi-annual immigration clinics.
Minimum Requirements:
- Fully
Bilingual English and Spanish and other language a plus.
- Understanding
of immigration issues and processes.
- Proficient
with Quickbooks Accounting software.
- Excellent
writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Package and database management.
- Board of Immigration
Appeals (BIA) trained and accredited.
- Minimum
five years of experience working with low income and immigrant
communities.
