POSITION SUMMARY:  

The mission of the new Mobilization Department at the Democratic National Committee is to bring ordinary people into the heart of the DNC and provide Americans with encouragement, power, and tools to mobilize in their communities. We organize in all 3,413 counties across the country, through the state parties and from the grassroots, and we seek to impact down-ballot races and build the Democratic resistance to the corrupt, dangerous Trump-Republican agenda.

We are seeking a Director of phones to build exceptional phone campaigns. The person in this job will act as a creative producer working across text and voice channels to ensure our programs are consistent for supporters, donors and voters. You'll manage vendors, write copy, and maintain a rigorous internal calendar. The ideal candidate for this job possesses an expert understanding of SMS, telemarketing, inbound and outbound calling, click-to-call technology, predictive dialers, and other phone-based methods of communication.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Develop and launch an integrated phones program at the DNC
• Oversee all our ongoing phone mobilization campaigns, including execution of complex segmentation and optimization programs, while ensuring the highest standard of quality
• Develop detailed campaign plans
• Write SMS, MMS messages, call scripts and landing page copy
• Ensure that all SMS and phone scripts are on message
• Manage fundraising, voter contact calls from the DNC
• Set aggressive fundraising and engagement goals. Work with our analytics team to ensure those goals are measured, tracked and met
• Build successful campaigns for down-ballot candidates and state parties to reach fundraising, engagement, and GOTV goals
• Produce clean, professional user experiences on tight timelines, and with coordination across our engineering team and non-technical departments
• Oversee the training of hundreds of digital staff across the country
• Manage a staff of callers and volunteers

 

ABOUT YOU:  

• 4 - 6 years’ experience managing mobile or telemarketing programs
• Record of hitting aggressive fundraising goals
• Excellent communication skills
• Extensive organizing experience
• Experience managing budgets and interpreting reporting
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; you should have an eagle-eye for typos and errors
• Understanding of SMS (Mobile Commons, Revere) platforms and/or 1:1 peer messaging platforms (Megaphone, Rally, Hustle)
• Experience managing volunteers and projects
• Possess a deep understanding of how to write to motivate action
