Position Description

 

The Senior Outreach Associate manages outreach and partnership work as part of our Career Education campaign, organizes and presents at student and community events, and is responsible for hiring and managing three Student Organizing Fellows to engage students, while managing a statewide student advisory committee.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

           

●      Oversees and implement a three-prong strategy to advance a statewide Career Education rebrand campaign, focused on building participation of students, parents, community-based organizations and other partners.

●      Recruit, train and lead a statewide team of student organizing fellows that will support the day-to-day implementation of the outreach work, with a special focus to connect the on-the-ground campaign with hard-to-reach regions and diverse populations.

●      Recruit and manage a statewide student advisory committee.

●      Create and maintain a tracking systems to hold your team accountable to meeting goals and milestones of the campaign.         

●      Help write and implement engagement plans for diverse communities and campuses throughout the        state.

●      Collaborate with strategic state coalitions to implement effective organizing strategies.

●      Work in conjunction with the YI West team to implement outreach in a cohesive manner.

●      Serve as a spokesperson to and with individuals and community partners.

●      Interact with clients, senior staff, and strategic partners regularly.

●      Travel to events throughout the state as needed.

 

Qualifications

 

●      Excellent oral communications skills, and ability to motivate individuals to take action.       

●      Comfortable in a fast paced start-up  atmosphere that requires creativity and resourcefulness.   

●      Experience crafting strategic plans as a part of a broader local or state campaign.

●      Ability to work  with a diverse  set of communities.    

●      Detailed-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

●      1-2 years campaign and organizing experience preferred.

●      Remote work within California is possible.
