Field Director
Background
A statewide campaign in the northeast is seeking an experienced campaign field director to start Nov. 15th.
Job Description
Field
● Identify field timeline and targets in each town and precinct, as well as volunteer capacity needed to meet field objectives;
● Convert signups and prospects to campaign volunteers and leaders, including by:
○ Following up with all event signups;
○ Prospecting new pools of potential volunteers through online communities, activist groups, progressive organizations, high school and college clubs, etc;
○ Identifying “super volunteers” and training them to be Town Captains and District Captains;
○ Ensuring that the campaign regularly engages with Town and District Captains, and that key metrics and goals are met on a weekly basis.
● Ensure that all field activity is integrated with social media and digital objectives;
● Identify and recruit key activist, political and community leaders to engage their own networks and help with political strategy;
● Identify and recruit affinity and constituency groups/committees, as well as leaders for each group;
● Oversee all campaign visibility; recruit for rallies and visibility events;
● Ensure that all policy/communications volunteers are added to the Writers and Talkers distribution list;
● Work with and manage statewide volunteer program;
● Provide key updates to key stakeholders in and out of state;
● Oversee paid field operations in targeted precincts in the state;
● Hire and manage all field staff.
Qualifications
The Field Director will have at least three cycles of campaign experience, including at least one cycle as a field director or manager of a congressional, large municipal or state legislative race, or regional field director on a statewide race.
