CleanSlateNow is a locally-based and run non-profit organization
started by former state senate majority leader Ken Gordon.
CleanSlateNow's central work is focused on backing candidates for
political office at every level who do not take special interest cash.
Right now, CSN is looking for dedicated individuals who are interested
in helping get CSN's 2014 election phone canvass off the ground. CSN's
phone banking will occur in three stages: The first will be identifying
likely independent-registered voters in a competitive congressional race
here in Colorado - as well as other places across the country - and
informing them they will have an opportunity to vote for a candidate who
does not take special interest cash. The second will be persuasion
calls of voters who respond positively, and the third will be reminding
them to get to the polls.
The majority of this work will be on the phones (Sunday through
Thursday, 4:30pm-830pm), but there may also be opportunities to help
with door canvasses. Rate is $11/hourly.
Qualifications are an interest in how
grassroots political candidate campaigns are conducted; a belief that
some of the best political candidates, regardless of party, are the ones
who don't take special interest cash; a great phone manner; patience
with voters who may not readily share your interest in politics or the
issue of money in politics.
In an email, please include a resume and a note explaining your
interest in the position and detailing some of your prior work
experience you believe may be applicable.
