The Data Quality Assurance Engineer plays a role in the development of
Statewide Voter Files and other data products utilized by Catalist
clients. The position will be primarily responsible for assuring the
integrity of all incoming Data prior to it being placed in Catalist’s
development process. The Engineer will work with company departments
to gain knowledge of past Voter Files Releases as well as to
understand how to and what to look for in regard to incoming data. In
addition, the Engineer will assist in acquiring Data from various
sources and the processing of raw data.



Duties and Responsibilities include:



· Oversee the data quality process for voter files and other
incoming data streams

· Provide information to ensure the proper processing of Voter data

· Own projects to gather election information from State and
County Boards of Elections

· Gain proficiency with our database query tool as well as
other internal resources to answer questions about the data

· Creates documentation to support all deliverables and to
facilitate future replication

· Present results, both orally and in writing, to technical
and non-technical audiences

· Acts as an advanced user of all internal and external
Catalist tools (JIRA, sFTP, Q Tool, M Tool, PDIQ), data and products
(Voter Files, Absentee/Early Vote Data, and Specialty Data) for the
purpose of assessing Data Quality



Required Skills and Experience:



· Dynamic problem solving skills in order to assess the
quality and determine the structural integrity of acquired data

· Ability to articulate ideas clearly, to be creative and, and
to work in a personable manner

Strong organization skills to work in a fast paced environment and
handle various tasks at once

· Highly proficient in Excel (large data sets, formulas,
graphs and pivot tables)

· Experience in the following will be given extra
consideration: Terminal, SQL, Access, ETL tools, Python, and Unix
command line interface.

· Past political and technology experience is a plus

· Great Attitude, strong work ethic and desire to learn
