POSITION SUMMARY
Team Leader, Field Fundraising
We are hiring a part-time Team Leader for our field fundraising canvass. This Team Leader will be responsible for executing Oakland Rising’s new Field Fundraising program, and managing and training a team of up to 5 field fundraisers. The Team Leader will also spend time in the field with the team, raising funds from new supporters, and building support among residents around Oakland Rising’s work. This is a 30-hour/week job.

PAY: $21 per hour plus pro-rated benefits.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Recruit, Motivate & Develop Your Team of Salespersons/Activists: Manage a team of three to five Field Fundraisers four days a week to raise money from Oakland residents to support the work of Oakland Rising and build progressive political power.
● Develop Leaders and Teach Canvassing/Fundraising Skills: Provide group training and one-on-one in-field coaching to Field Fundraisers, with an emphasis on developing leadership among emerging organizers.
● Contribute New Ideas: Work closely with the Strategic Partnerships Director to develop materials, scripts, etc.
● Run an Organized Office: Track progress through daily, weekly and monthly reports and adjust program as needed to reach fundraising goals. Maintain the campaign space in an organized fashion and track tablets, uniforms, etc.
● Test and Develop New Methods: Learn to work in the voter file database and organize, utilize, and scan lists for the team to use out in the field.
● Use Your Voice: Join the team in doing the one-on-one outreach to Oakland residents to raise funds and build support and awareness of our social justice work.
● Drive the company van to drop off and pick up team members as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
● Prior experience in sales or canvassing
● Proven ability to lead trainings
● Previous management experience
● Ability to drive, current CA license and clean driving record for the last 2 years
● Comfort talking to community members one-on-one and asking for financial support
● Punctual and reliable
● Dedicated to racial, economic & environmental justice, and advocating for the rights of Oakland’s most historically impacted community members
● Ability to talk clearly and concisely to dozens of people daily about issues facing our communities
● Physical ability to do lots of walking, going door-to-door in Oakland neighborhoods
● Positive attitude, team player and interest in leadership development
● Basic computer skills
● Ability to work weekday afternoons and evenings
● Ability to fill out accurate nightly reports
● Ability and willingness to take direction and guidance from supervisors
ENCOURAGED:
● Prior experience managing staff and/or programs
● Previous experience canvassing and phonebanking, working on a campaign, working or volunteering with a community organization, doing sales, or customer service is a plus.
● Experience working with spreadsheets.
● Familiarity with Oakland neighborhoods is a plus.
● Multilingual proficiency is a plus.

We are hiring part-time paid team members for our field fundraising canvass. Going door-to-door, Field Fundraising Team Members will be responsible for raising funds from new supporters, and building support among Oakland residents around Oakland Rising’s work. Team Members will receive paid training. This is a 20-hour/week job.

● Honestly and accurately report fundraising progress, and demonstrate a commitment to reaching daily, weekly and monthly fundraising goals.
