Job Description: Fair Elections Legal Network (FELN), a national, nonpartisan voting rights organization whose mission is to remove barriers to registration and voting for traditionally underrepresented constituencies, seeks to hire a motivated, organized and conscientious individual to fill a challenging full-time position. Responsibilities include supporting the organization President, the maintenance of office systems, and other staff assistance as needed. The Office Manager/Administrator will be responsible for bookkeeping, office upkeep, HR, and working with outside contacts for other support, such as IT when necessary. This is a perfect opportunity for an administrative professional or recent graduate with prior administrative experience looking to start a career in the non-profit advocacy and voting rights fields.
The job requires excellent written and oral communications skills, superior organizational skills and solid computer skills--including familiarity with mainstream business applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and the Internet. Basic bookkeeping/budget-monitoring experience is strongly preferred. Successful candidates will be solutions-oriented, creative, public-interest minded and always focused on the details. They will possess a pro-active problem solving attitude and the flexibility and good humor necessary among staff in a small office.
