UltraViolet is looking for a senior strategist and project director with 10+ years of experience to work hand-in-hand with our Co-Executive Directors to flip the script on how people think and talk about abortion. If you’re passionate about changing the abortion debate and have a proven track record of running media-savvy, culturally-relevant projects mobilizing millions of people, you should apply for this job.
UltraViolet is a powerful and rapidly growing community of people from all walks of life who work together to fight sexism and expand women’s rights. Whether it’s politics or pop culture, UltraViolet members are ready to take action to create a cost for sexism. At more than one million members strong, we’ve taken on powerful people and institutions -- from the NFL and Facebook to Donald Trump and Paul Ryan -- to call out sexist attacks on women and make progress on our priority issues: economic security, ending violence against women, abortion and health care, and sexism in the media, pop culture, and politics.
Through our Reproductive Rights and Culture Project, we aim to flip the script on abortion--to move us from a country that shames and restricts women to one that supports and empowers women, our lives, and our decisions.
Equality at a higher frequency is what we're all about.
About the Project Director position
The Reproductive Rights & Culture Project Director is a senior position at UltraViolet. The ideal person for this job has the instincts to spot a moment, a deep urgency for action, the willingness to go after any target, and the determination to keep pushing, even in the face of long odds.
Ultimately, your goal as Project Director is to find that sweet spot — campaigns that land in everyone’s inbox, take over social media feeds, pop up in kitchen table conversations, and land on the nightly news. Your mission is to experiment, find bold messaging and campaign hooks that work, and change the conversation around abortion. Ultimately, we want to mobilize millions — in particular millennials and young people of color — to reshape the abortion landscape.
