Since Hillary Clinton won this district in 2016, TX-7 has been one of the handful of targeted races for the 2018 congressional cycle. Our candidate is a leader of the resistance movement with strong national connections in the progressive community, media & entertainment, and Washington D.C. In a heated 5-way battle to the general, our grassroots, political campaign will rely heavily on field and peer to peer communications. Our candidate, a brilliant woman, is just the type of person who is needed to represent this district.

 

Primary: March 6

Potential Run-off: May 24

General Election: Nov. 6

 

About job:

 

Looking for an experienced field operative who understands VAN, is a great communicator, very organized, goals driven, and is a self-motivator.

 

 

Responsibilities:

·       Minimum of 100 volunteer calls per day

·       Must balance launching canvassers and training phone bankers on our calling system

·       Work long hours with little sleep and almost no days off

·       Utilize local connections and organizations to recruit more volunteers

·       Attend local meetings and schools to recruit more volunteers

·       Work with high school and college-aged interns to organize effectively

·       Oversee and manage FO’s, Interns, and volunteers.

·       Will work under Field Director to develop relationships, and implement a highly targeted program.

 

Qualifications:

·       3-4 Campaign cycles in a field role

·       Proficient in VAN

·       MUST be a great communicator (verbal and written), with the ability to connect well with volunteers

·       Must stay cool in stressful situations despite little sleep

·       Must be able to cut turf, create searches, create phone banks, import and export.

·       Must has a positive, upbeat personality and a good sense of humor

·       Knowledge of Google Suite a plus

·       Must be quick with computer programs

·       Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

·       Experience in Houston/Harris County TX politics a plus.
