Hello, we have an open position for a full time staff position for Community Outreach & Messaging (Oakland CA).
We Vote (get-out-the-vote 501(c)(3) nonprofit startup) is dedicated to putting voters back in the driver's seat through social voting. This full time position is a unique opportunity to be part of the core launch team, made up of senior staff. We are building a social voter guide for this year and beyond. In five minutes or less, a voter will be able to see their ballot (website, iPhone & Android), ask their friends (privately) how they are voting, follow organizations they trust, do some quick research, and thus be prepared to cast their votes. Organizations, public figures, and power voters will be able to create and promote voter guides, tied to their Twitter handle.
Responsibilities
As a volunteer movement, we have 100's of stakeholders that we need to keep informed. You will be responsible for telling the story of We Vote as it unfolds, to our volunteers, partner organizations, donors, and the public (Newsletters, Twitter, Facebook). You will recruit and manage volunteer teams and form lasting relationships. Please be prepared to commit to stay through December 2016 at a minimum. Our office is 10 minute drive from nearest BART station (Rockridge BART).
Salary & Benefits
Full time $31,200. Work from home 1-2 days per week. Health insurance.
