NARAL Pro-Choice Nevada is hiring an Organizing Coordinator to lead NARAL’s organizing efforts for reproductive freedom in southern Nevada. The position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Organizing Coordinator will mobilize NARAL members in Southern Nevada for community, legislative and political organizing opportunities to advance reproductive rights in the state. The Organizing Coordinator will also be responsible for continuing to cultivating strategic partnerships and identifying opportunities for NARAL to partner with our progressive partners.
Job Type: Full time, temporary position through December 31, 2017 with the possibility to extend to permanent position.
Responsibilities
· Recruit, train and mobilize NARAL members in Southern Nevada.
· Direct and oversee paid canvassing and phone banking efforts in Las Vegas.
· Develop an organizing structure for NARAL members to advocate for reproductive freedom in Southern Nevada.
· Support continuing to build NARAL’s online organizing presence in the state.
· Serve as the Southern Nevada regional representative for NARAL with coalition partners.
· Provide departmental support where needed such as budgeting, data entry, and other duties as assigned.
· Schedule will be flexible depending on the needs of the campaign.
Qualifications
o At least 2-3 years of experience organizing for political candidates, issues, or fundraising purposes.
o Experience in and familiarity with Las Vegas community and political climate.
o Self-starter with exceptional critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills.
o Positive attitude, detail-oriented, highly motivated and organized.
o Ability to work respectfully with people of all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
o A strong commitment to NARAL Pro-Choice America’s goals and programs as well as reproductive rights and justice.
o Experience managing staff or volunteers preferred.
o Experience with NGP/VAN preferred.
o Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
