TRAINING ASSOCIATE, FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTY

The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is currently seeking a Training Associate for the 2020 campaign cycle. The Training Associate will assist the Training Director in the execution of FDP's training schedule including in-person and online trainings. In this role, the Training Associate will work interdepartmentally to implement effective trainings for internal and external audiences. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is ready to join a team focused on building the infrastructure that will turn Florida blue in November.

The Training Associate will report directly to the Training Director. This is a full-time position and is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

• Produce training materials, webinars, and self-guided training modules for FDP in coordination with the Training Director.
  
• Collaborate across departments to develop training content and schedule trainings.
  
• Manage training logistics for in-person and webinar trainings including location finding, attendee management, and event promotion.
  
• Ensure data integrity of all trainings and attendees using VAN and Google Sheets.
  
• Serve as trainer as needed.
  
• Travel to satellite, other statewide and out-of-state locations to prepare, coordinate, and deliver training is possible.
  
• May require day and/or overnight travel and non-traditional work schedules.
  
• Other duties as assigned by the Training Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Experience public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences.
  
• Familiarity with VAN, Google Suite, and online training tools like Zoom Webinar.
  
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Excellent communication skills.
  
• Experience developing training materials and resources.
  
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in office and remotely.
  
• Experience with campaigns, particularly working with or managing volunteers.
  
• Knowledge of Democratic Party operations and campaign best practices.
  
• Commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ballot.
  
• Fluency in Spanish language is a plus.

LOGISTICS

• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and the ability to travel at times throughout the state for more than a day at a time.
• Must have access to a working smartphone and laptop.
• Office hours are 9:30 – 6:30, Monday through Friday, however, evening and weekend hours will be needed regularly.
• Must have the ability to regularly lift and carry 25 lbs.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The Florida Democratic Party offers a competitive salary with the opportunity for growth. Yearly salary range for the Training Associate position is $40,000 - $45,000 commensurate with experience including excellent health, dental, vision and life insurance paid fully by the employer. The position is currently slated through December 31, 2020.
