Job opening: Business Development Director at DSPolitical

The nation’s leading digital ad network for Democrats and progressive organizations is looking for several Business Development Directors to join our ever-growing sales department.

 

Founded in 2011, DSPolitical is the progressive movement’s first voter-targeted online advertising network. We enable Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations (unions, non-profits, etc.) to deliver online ads only to the individuals that our clients wish to target. DSPolitical is looking for Business Development Directors who are qualified, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, organized and outgoing.

 

Requirements:

      Demonstrated interest in Democratic politics and digital media.

      2-5 years sales experience within the political and/or public affairs field.

      Significant experience writing proposals, pitching to current or potential clients, and reaching or exceeding assigned sales goals.

      Accustomed to using sales tools (such as Salesforce), familiar with Google Apps and great knowledge of Microsoft products especially Excel.

      Client‐focused and highly organized; genuinely enjoy answering questions and solving problems through an effective and creative approach.

 

Responsibilities:

      Driving new revenue by developing relationships outside of DSPolitical’s current client base and strengthening existing client relationships.

      Developing and executing an outreach and visibility strategy to help reach sales quota.

      New client out reach through cold calls and email outreach.

      In person and online demos/pitches.

      Following up on leads and completing RFPs.

      Completing budgets and media plans.

      Pre-existing relationships with a network of progressives and media consultants is highly valued.

      Represent DSPolitical at conferences and networking events.

 

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

      Persistent follow-through dedication and commitment with the ability to prioritize and multi task.

      Proven ability to organize, prioritize and multi task.

      Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.

      Must be able to work well within a team environment, as well as be able to take initiative and work independently.

      Strong computer and Internet skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Google Apps and Drive; Salesforce and/or Catalist Qtool experience is a plus.

 

The Business Development Director position is open for a February 1st start date. Compensation is commensurate with experience and sales, and benefits are competitive. This is a DC based position, but some travel may be required as necessary. The Business Development Director reports directly to the Vice President of Business Development.

 

Work hours are consistently 10am-6pm, with the expectation that evening and weekend work will be required as necessary. Office attire is casual.
