Rank the Vote is seeking a dynamic National Organizer to work on the front lines of a transformative campaign to upgrade America’s voting system to ranked choice voting (RCV).
About Rank the Vote
Rank the Vote is a non-partisan, 501c3 grassroots organization founded by veteran activists who built the largest statewide movement for RCV in the nation. We are now exporting our successful organizing model coast to coast. The goal is to help local activists in every state build sustainable volunteer organizations that execute a program of massive capacity growth that will advance RCV in the public arena at a historically unprecedented scale.
About the Role
The National Organizer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of state organizations. Working hand-in-hand with grassroots leaders, the National Organizer will ensure strong volunteer leadership on the ground; high-performance execution of each states’ monthly signups, fundraising, and endorsements goals; and healthy management, communications, and organizing practices from top to bottom.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with volunteer leaders to ensure they are executing our movement methods effectively.
- Conduct coaching sessions and training on all aspects of our movement methods: from how to run an effective meeting, to how to inspire a recruit to action, to how to set up and maintain organizational systems and technology platforms.
- Facilitate and co-facilitate meetings shoulder-to-shoulder with activist leaders.
- Network, scout, research (e.g., social media, internet searches), contact, and build relationships with RCV fans and activists in states not yet organized.
- Conduct meeting/event planning, scheduling, executive assistance, and office support as needed.
- Develop and maintain systems of detailed tracking and reporting for all states.
- Write creative social media, email blasts, and news content for publication.
Qualifications:
- Passion, drive, vision, and proven leadership
- Exceptional people skills and emotional intelligence
- Prior campaign experience, including volunteer management
- Must be available on evenings and weekends to ensure maximum engagement with volunteers
- Must be available to travel up to 33% of paid time to assist state volunteers on an in-person basis, as public health conditions allow
- Excellent public speaking and meeting facilitation skills
- Fluency in GSuite, GDocs, and other web-based project management and collaboration platforms
- Prior grassroots fundraising experience
- An unwavering positive attitude and good humor
- An eagerness to receive feedback and course-correction
- Passion for RCV and a commitment to continued learning
- Adherence to an ethos of non-partisan public relations and messaging, including engagement with individuals from a broad spectrum of political views, and ability to show restraint on expressing personal partisan opinions.
Schedule: Full-Time (Some evenings and weekends required)
Compensation: $50-$70K Salary (commensurate with experience)
