Finance Director
Congressional Campaign
West Virginia Democratic congressional candidate seeks a Finance
Director for the 2018 campaign cycle.
The ideal candidate is committed to electing Democrats to office and
has a passion for change. We are looking for a candidate with high energy,
enthusiasm and a positive attitude, who is eager to build out his/her portfolio
and take on new challenges.
Responsibilities:
- ·
Creating and executing a strategic and aggressive
finance plan, which includes managing all fundraising events, candidate call
time, and low-dollar solicitations
- ·
Overseeing all donor outreach and
correspondence, including following up on all fundraising pledges and new donor
recruitment
- ·
Building and managing a small volunteer team to
ensure all donor research and follow-thru is complete in addition to overseeing
other general campaign finance tasks
- ·
Working both independently and with the
candidate to identify new fundraising opportunities
- ·
Ensuring that campaign manages relationships
with past donors - keeping large donors engaged in meaningful way (periodic
conference calls, candidate outreach, campaign updates, etc) and keeping small
donors engaged (periodic emails, etc.)
- ·
Managing relationship with campaign fundraising
consultant to ensure all work is complete
- ·
Drafting written fundraising materials to
utilize across all written campaign platforms, including e-mail solicitations,
social media, and other platforms as needed
- ·
Overseeing an internal process to ensure all
information across all digital fundraising platforms is maintained and updated
as needed
- ·
Working closely with senior campaign advisors
and the candidate to plan logistics for all fundraising travel and related
meetings and events, including staffing the candidate at campaign events when
necessary
- ·
Working closely with compliance staff to ensure
timely completion and accurate execution of campaign filings, including to
process campaign expenses and vet campaign contributions
- ·
Performing other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- ·
Minimum of one cycle of campaign finance
experience required. Previous congressional campaign finance experience or
equivalent preferred; preference to those with experience in Appalachia and
Rust Belt states.
- ·
Experience with a proven system of political
fundraising. Possesses the ability to articulate and execute this system with
assistance of candidate and campaign staff.
- ·
Knowledge of NGP, ActBlue, VAN, and Excel
- ·
Strong written and communication skills
- ·
Prior experience with targeting contributors and
follow up management
- ·
Excellent organization and time management
skills
- ·
Basic knowledge of federal campaign and ethics
finance law
- ·
Event planning experience preferred
- ·
Experience managing volunteers, interns, or
staff preferred
- ·
Donor prospecting and research experience
preferred
- ·
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Job Type: Full-time
