JOB: Regional Political Director, NextGen Climate, San Francisco HQ

SUMMARY:
NextGen Climate is hiring Regional Political Directors, based in San Francisco, CA, to help lead our efforts to work with on-the-ground staff and consultants to execute our campaign plans in targeted states this election cycle. Our Regional Political Directors will, along with our voter engagement and data director, manage the expectations from the direct voter contact activities taking place in their regions, as well as work to align our direct mail and paid media programs with those field programs. The Regional Political Directors will work under the supervision of the head of the political department and will be part of the management team for NextGen Climate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In conjunction with state-based organizations and state staff on the ground, develop and manage communications and political outreach for NextGen Climate in your regions through the 2016 elections.
- Work collaboratively with NextGen Climate communications, digital, research and data staff to engage them in state support work, including paid media, communications, coalition outreach, and grassroots mobilization.
- Work with state and national teams to develop budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years or more managing staff and campaigns.
- Experience as a statewide campaign manager or campaign manager of a competitive Congressional election.
- Experience desking state operations from HQ preferred but not required.
- Experience working with consultants and vendors.
- Ability to both work independently and to work collaboratively with peers.
- Strong organizational, strategic and analytical skills, ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects while clearly measuring performance and meeting goals and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (strong writing and presentation abilities) with attention to detail.
- Passionate commitment to climate change and environmental politics.
- Availability to travel on a regular basis.
