The Reelect Gregorio “Greg” Casar campaign is hiring for the position of Field Organizer. The objective of the campaign is not just to reelect Council Member Greg Casar - the campaign is part of a continuing dialogue with the communities of North Austin about the issues everyday Austinites face. We also aim to increase voter participation in Austin City Council District 4 and to build up the bench of progressive organizing talent.


Good candidates will be ready to devote time and energy to working to advance progress in Austin, Texas. On the job training is available for the technical work, but a passion for progressive causes and campaigns is required. A functional cell phone and reliable transportation are required, and a functioning car and laptop or tablet are strongly recommended.


Field Organizers will be integral parts of the team, working with CM Casar and other campaign staff. They will get the chance to organize within a well funded and robust field campaign in a diverse district. This is a great opportunity to get professional campaign and organizing experience with the guidance of an experienced candidate and campaign manager.


Field Organizers will be responsible for:

  • Performing direct voter contact via canvassing and phone banking

  • Recruiting and organizing volunteers

  • Performing campaign duties as delegated by the Field Director or Campaign Manager

  • Having professional interactions with supporters, voters, and volunteers

  • Attending staff meetings, when required

  • Properly reporting and recording campaign interactions, including on MiniVAN enabled devices


Pay for Field Organizers will start at $15.00 per hour, with a gas stipend.
