Summer Fellowship Opportunity at Rhodes for Congress, Democratic Campaign close to NYC

Democratic congressional campaign seeking Summer Organizing Fellows to join one of the most competitive races in the 2018 Midterm Elections! Please submit a resume and brief paragraph of interest to in...@garethrhodes.com.

The Rhodes for Congress campaign is dedicated to electing Gareth Rhodes to Congress in New York’s 19th Congressional District and helping to flip the House blue in 2018. Summer Organizing Fellows will be responsible for recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteer operations for the campaign to register, persuade and motivate voters. Start dates begin April 30 and go until June 15 and class credit can be arranged with participating institutions. Part time and full time internships are available.

Ideal candidates are hard-working, self-motivated individuals with an ability to learn quickly, build relationships with volunteers, and turn out voters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Volunteer recruitment and management.
  
• Training volunteers one-on-one and in group settings.
  
• Building and managing volunteer petitioning, canvass, and phone bank events.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Applicants must also have:

• A working cell phone.
  
• Laptop or personal computer.
  
• Access to a car.
  

Priority will be given to individuals with local ties, but any motivated fellows are welcome on the team. Supporter housing can be arranged for those not from the area.
