Job Title: Training Director/Deputy Field Director


Location: Eagan, MN


POSITION DESCRIPTION:


The Training Director/Deputy Field Director is responsible for helping to execute the campaign’s training plan across the district. You will implement trainings, help develop leadership curriculum and work with organizing staff to build leaders across the district. Your main focus will be organizing staff and volunteer development in several core areas: volunteer recruitment, persuasion, leadership development and data. This will be done in regional offices, on campuses and with volunteer leaders. You will also help manage field organizers and canvassers in our regional offices. This position falls within the Organizing Department. You will report to the Field Director.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Field Director to create various levels of training curriculum for the Organizing Department.
  • Help manage organizers and canvassers in regional offices.
  • Train organizing staff and volunteer leaders in core organizing areas: volunteer recruitment, persuasion, leadership development, and data.
  • Schedule and manage operations for large trainings.
  • Work closely with regionals and field organizers to assess training and leadership development needs then schedule and implement the appropriate trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned and directed by campaign leadership.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience of grassroots organizing.
  • A competitive spirit geared toward meeting and exceeding goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to always be professional, calm, and collected in all circumstances.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines, while keeping long term objectives in mind.
  • Must be a self-starter, and be able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Willing to work irregular hours including nights and weekends
