Organizer Job Description

Democratic candidate for Montgomery County Executive David Blair is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Field Organizer. The Field Organizer position is a limited duration assignment, with an immediate start date and an end date of July 2nd (one week after the Primary). Compensation is based on experience. Benefits include healthcare to full time employees.

 

Job Responsibilities

The Field Organizers will work to:

• Turn out Democratic voters in Montgomery County by running an aggressive Get Out The Vote (GOTV) program;
• Build and deploy a grassroots volunteer base, by (1) recruiting, motivating, and managing volunteers for canvassing, phone-banking, and data entry, and (2) working (either directly or through volunteers/interns) to ensure that our volunteer databases are organized and kept up-to-date;
• Represent the campaign both in person and online;
• Supervise and train campaign fellows;
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Applicants should expect to work long hours, including nights and weekends, and have access to reliable transportation.

 

Qualifications

Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:

·  Strong time-management skills and work ethic; Previous experience as an organizer or campaign staffer is encouraged;

·  Ability to motivate volunteers to reach goals;

·  Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;

·  Ability to spend long hours on the phone and canvassing;

·  Ability to adapt quickly and accomplish goals as set forth by the campaign;

·  Results-oriented, dependable, and proactive;

·  Working knowledge of local politics and strong relationships with community members;

·  Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.

TX Congressional Campaign | Field Organizer

Position Description: Top red to blue race which has received national attention, seeks an experienced individual for a full-time position of Field Organizer. The ideal candidate will have a combination of technical, communication, and political skills to manage all aspects of a well-organized field operation. This Field Organizer will work with others to recruit, train, and guide volunteers in what is a large-scale field operation.

 

 

About job:

 

Looking for an experienced field organizer who understands VAN, is a great communicator, well-organized, goals driven, and is a self-motivator.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Minimum of 100 volunteer calls per day

·       Must balance launching canvassers and training phone bankers on our calling system

·       Work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends

·       Utilize local connections and organizations to recruit more volunteers

·       Attend local meetings and schools to recruit and engage with potential volunteers

·       Travel to various meet and greets, public gatherings, or any other event to represent the campaign and engage with voters, while recruiting potential volunteers

·       Engage one on one meetings with supporters and volunteers to build relationships and train grassroots leaders

·       Will work with Regional Field Director, Data Director, and Field Director to develop relationships with supporters and implement a highly targeted program.

 

Qualifications:

·       1-2 Campaign cycles in a field role

·       Proficient in VAN

·       MUST be a great communicator (verbal and written), with the ability to connect well with volunteers

·       Must be able to stay positive and calm in high action situations

·       Must have a positive, upbeat personality and a good sense of humor

·       Knowledge of Google Suite preferred

·       Must be quick with computer programs

·       Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

·       Experience in Houston/Harris County TX politics preferred.
