Reports To:

Regional Field Director

 

 

Overall Description:

 

 

Paid Fellows will be an integral part of the 2016 Coordinated Campaign. Paid Fellows will be responsible for implementing the 2016 Arizona Coordinated Campaign Field Program in their region by coordinating election activities to maximize Democratic turnout and improve Democratic performance. Paid Fellows will work part-time, and will be responsible for building teams and motivating volunteers in targeted areas of the state and coordinating voter registration efforts and voter contact programs in their designated turf.  Paid Fellows will be the face of the campaign in their region, and will maintain positive relationships with local Democratic group leaders and volunteers.  The desired candidates for the position will be enthusiastic, have volunteering or political experience, and a strong passion for electing Democrats.

 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.       Serving as a representative for the Arizona Coordinated Campaign in their assigned region.

2.       Working with the Regional Field Director to implement the field plan and their region, hitting all goals in all metrics, including:

·         Voter registration

·         Door knocks

·         Phone calls

·         Volunteer recruitment and team building

·         Commit to vote card collection

·         Vote by mail/Permanent Early Voter List Recruitment and follow-up

·         Other metrics as assigned

3.       Building a long-term volunteer infrastructure in their assigned region.

4.       Collaborating with volunteer leadership to successfully plan canvasses, phone banks, voter registration events, house parties, forums and other campaign events as directed in assigned region.

5.       Managing, training, and motivating volunteers to achieve daily and weekly voter contact goals and plan objectives.

6.       Meeting daily reporting and data entry deadlines.

7.       Participating in regular reporting conference calls.

8.       Performing such other duties as the RFD assigns.

 

Qualifications:

·         Basic understanding of political campaign principles and strategies

·         Previous electoral experience as staff, intern or volunteer

·         Arizona political experience preferred

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

·         Experience using VoteBuilder is preferred

·         Dedication to empowering volunteers to effect change in their community

·         Applicants must be highly organized and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced campaign environment

·         A true self-starter who is a detail-oriented team player 

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong dedication to the values of the Democratic Party of Arizona

·         Access to reliable transportation required

 

Salary:

Salary is commensurate with experience. Position will include medical insurance benefits.
