Overview:
UAW 5810 is seeking dynamic individuals with experience in workplace, community or labor research to facilitate the on-the-ground efforts of organizers and leaders. Data organizers work closely with leaders and organizers to provide them the information they need to have meaningful and productive discussions with workers. The successful applicant must be detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, eerquick learner and strategic thinker who understands power dynamics.
Job Responsibilities:
With an eye towards detail, carry out workplace research
Accurately and efficiently process member information to ensure the highest quality data
Work closely with organizers to facilitate organizing interactions and efficient use of organizing time
Assist in developing campaign research programs
Assist in data transfers between databases and other software systems
Generate reports and analyses for campaign leadership
Participate and improve data workflow around organizer data submissions
Participate in team development
Job Requirements:
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, other Office products, as well as the Google Suite of Utilities
Ability to follow protocols for data entry and maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency
Discipline to finish work independently and on-time
Strong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
Ability to work with diverse workforce, collaborate as part of a team, work in a deadline-driven environment
Proficiency with SQL, ability to code in Python, Perl or similar languages a plus
Experience working with relational databases, desired
Experience using social media in organizing campaigns, experience with web-development a plus
Previous experience in organizing or union research a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in research
Experience with academic and/or public sector employment
Familiarity with research workplaces
Fluency in multiple languages
