A New York State County coordinated campaign is seeking resumes for a campaign manager. Minimum one (1) cycle of campaign management, with staff/volunteer oversight experience, is required. Working knowledge of Hudson Valley issues/politics is highly preferred. Compensation: Compensation is negotiable but will be close to the $5,000/month depending on experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

Campaign Plan: Draft and implement a winning campaign plan that outlines the campaign’s efforts through Election Day, including, but not limited to, overseeing all campaign operations and logistics, fundraising, canvassing, phoning, volunteer recruitment, district outreach and local media relations, while coordinating with consultants and the candidates. Develop and foster relationships with local party officials, neighborhood leaders, union organizers, and volunteers.

Fundraising: The campaign manager will assist and direct fundraising activities with the committee. Though the committee is responsible for operating this apparatus, something with finance experience is preferred to help the committee make decisions.

  • Manage staff or volunteers in finance prep work and ensure party leaders are keeping on task and hitting goals.

Candidate Management: Consult with county legislative candidates, committees, and town candidates to ensure the candidates have the preparation and information needed to succeed.

Volunteer Recruitment and Management: Using the candidates’ personal contacts, county parties, and local connections, recruit, train and manage campaign volunteers. Secure commitments throughout the cycle and assign relevant tasks.

Field Planning and Executing: Draft and implement a field plan that involves candidate, volunteer and campaign staff canvassing, community outreach, phone banking, creative field tactics, volunteer recruitment and confirmation of positive IDs. With consultants and the candidate coordinate the recruitment and hiring of campaign staff, then manage additional campaign staff as required.

Press Relations: Serve as the campaign contact for local and statewide media. Coordinate with candidate and consultants in drafting press releases when appropriate, and preparing candidate for press opportunities.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Contribution and Expenditure Tracking: Work with the campaign/committee Treasurer to establish and maintain accurate records of bank account, contributions and expenditures, and assist the Treasurer with contribution and expenditure report filings when needed.

Website, Network outreach and Social Media: Maintain the campaigns’ website so that it serves as a valuable and up-to- date communication tool, or delegate this task when appropriate. Assist with drafting outreach emails and social media posts.

Applicants should expect to work traditional campaign hours, possess reliable transportation and relocate if hired. Support housing may be available and will be part of the hiring conversations.
