In 2015, Organizing for Action (OFA) will rely on its digital platforms to reach its multi-million person audience, and is seeking a talented leader who will develop and drive online communications through a variety of media, including social, digital organizing tools like Connect (a volunteer networking platform), the website, paid ads—and especially email.
The Deputy Digital Director will work closely with the Digital Director to oversee the creation and execution of all digital components of OFA's mission. The position will also work in tandem with other departments to utilize sophisticated digital strategies and resources to support the organizational priorities.
Strong experience in an editorial capacity—especially managing email campaigns.
Be committed to creativity, developing exciting, supporter-friendly content that drives engagement and fundraising, and sets OFA apart from other organizations.
Be able to lead projects across digital disciplines.
Be solutions-oriented, setting projections and hitting goals within non-traditional legal and optical restrictions.
Have an understanding of best practices and emerging trends within the digital space.
Work collaboratively, and be comfortable interfacing with other departments to foster a “one team” environment.
Familiarity with web platforms like Blue State Digital and Google Analytics
Experience running large-scale projects is a plus.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Contribute to strategic direction for all outbound teams, especially email
Co-manage OFA's digital staff along with the Digital Director
Maintain and develop editorial calendar
Develop fundraising calendar
Aggressively test assumptions about best practices for email, social, and other outbound platforms—especially for fundraising
Coordinate and communicate messaging with both the Digital team and other team leaders
Draft, edit, setup, and deploy emails and social content as needed
Develop new ways to interact with OFA’s audiences
