The Voter Participation Center
and its sister organization, the Center for Voter Information, is seeking an
experienced Digital Manager who will lead the development and execution
of a comprehensive, integrated digital outreach and engagement strategy, as
well as help design digital efforts to complement our voter registration and
civic engagement programs.
The Digital Manager will be responsible
for shaping and building the organizations’ online digital presence and brand, and develop
a growth strategy through its multiple outreach platforms. S/he
will need to stay on top of the latest and emerging social media trends to
identify the most effective direction, application, strategic technology, and
outreach practices to achieve the organizations’ goals.
The Digital Manager will report
to the Communications Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and
execute a comprehensive digital plan that includes web strategies, digital
marketing, visual content creation & optimization, mobile, email
distribution, social media, and paid media.
- Maintain an
editorial calendar for key social media initiatives, provide smart and
compelling content for engagement and outreach, and prepare for rapid
response needs.
- Collaborate with
the Program and Analytics Departments to design innovative voter contact
tools and applications.
- Expand the
organizations’ digital footprint and develop creative strategies to engage
with our audiences across multiple platforms.
- Work with staff
and consultants to develop and approve online marketing strategies.
- Coordinate
strategies and activities to increase organizations’ visibility and
enhance its reputation with partners, allies, media outlets, and online
channels.
- Ensure digital
assets are properly integrated with the Development Department’s goal of
curating a positive and resourceful donor/activist experience to bind our
supporters to VPC/CVI.
- Other duties as
required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 4+ years of
political work experience, with at least 2 years in digital, in a
fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong
understanding of political communications and social media and how to
integrate effectively.
- Exceptional
writing and analytical skills; the ability to write both strategically and
creatively on a broad array of issues, meeting deadlines consistently.
- Competent
background in voter modeling, A/B testing, and analysis. Obsessed with
metrics-driven projects.
- Ability to use
multiple mediums and approaches to create effective communications
campaigns to reach different audiences, with attention to tone, nuance,
and detail.
- Exhibit a high
level of judgment and discretion with professional and confidential
information.
- Have an eagle-eye
for detail, especially with proofreading.
- Ability to work
effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment. Must be able to
bring ideas to the table and follow-through on projects.
- Commitment to
diversity and track record of working with others of diverse backgrounds
and personalities.
- Video and graphic
design experience preferable. At minimum, able to create video with a
smart phone and edit with graphic content with applications like Photoshop
and Illustrator.
- A great sense of
humor and creativity.
