RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field Organizers (FOs) are the face of the Bernie 2016 campaign in Minnesota. FOs build and grow teams of volunteers who conduct the campaign’s voter contact in accordance with their regional organizing plan. FOs identify, recruit and train groups of volunteers to hold phone banks, canvasses, house parties and other activities to strengthen the campaign’s caucus day organization. They hold volunteers accountable to the goals proscribed in the field plan as well as ensure the integrity of the data collected. They organize and build for region-wide events and build relationships with local political and community leaders in the North Star State. FOs report directly to their Regional Field Director.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously.
- Candidates will preferably have one election cycle of field organizing experience and own transportation.
- The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the structure of political campaigns and familiarity with VAN.
- A good sense of humor and a strong interest in and commitment to the ideas of the Bernie 2016 campaign.
