A Top Tier State Senate campaign in Long Island, NY is hiring a Field Director to build and manage an aggressive data driven field program for the 2016 cycle

 

A successful candidate will be a dynamic individual possessing previous successful organizing experience and demonstrating a range of professional skills. The Field Director will report to the Campaign Manager and will be responsible for the hiring and training of field organizers and day to day management of the field program. Responsibilities Include:

 

·         Recruiting, training, and managing a staff of 3 or more field organizers

·         In conjunction with the Campaign Manager, creating and executing a data driven field plan

·         Tracking and reporting progress to goal in real time

·         Ability to smartly analyze voter identification numbers and be flexible to adjust the field plan as needed

·         Set, meet, and exceed benchmarks for voter identification, voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement, and GOTV

Preferred Skills:

 

·         2 cycles of previous organizing work in a high demand environment that focused on voter identification

·         Demonstrated ability to develop campaign plans and execution of those plans

·         Previous experience training and motivating large community based volunteer groups and/or staff in previous employment

·         Proficiency in use of VAN and other voter contact tools

·         Mastery of basic office programs including the Microsoft office suite, excel and google spreadsheets in particular

·         Coordinate campaign events and outreach with Campaign Manager

·         Self-motivated, ability to take initiative and be a strong team player in the context of a plan

·         A desire and drive to help get back the NY State Senate back in Democratic control

·         The ability to travel independently and a working vehicle

·         Valid drivers’ license and insurance

·         Must have own laptop

·         The ability to work extended hours, weekends included
