Community Aide

New York State Senator

Duties:

• Work with the Community Affiars teams to draft and implement a plan for community engagement.

• Oversee, manage and implement all aspects of community engagement for ta target area.

• Manage community liaisons/community hubs.

• Grow the coalition to include key organizations and community leaders that represent the district's broad diversity.

• Work with coalition members to identify and develop community ambassadors. 

• Identify new supporters and new volunteers.

Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of community organizing experience; previous experience coordinating community engagement programs strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities. 

• Demonstrated experience working with social change and civil rights.

• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and communities, including the ability to facilitate diverse coalition meetings and to build consensus, and a commitment to provide services to all residents

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Salary will be based on experience.
