Iowa Deputy Organizing Director - Amy for America

Senator Amy Klobuchar’s 2020 presidential campaign is seeking applications for a Deputy Organizing

Director in Iowa. The Deputy Organizing Director will oversee the day-to-day needs of the organizing

program and manage a team of Regional Organizing Directors. The Deputy Organizing Director will report

directly to the Organizing Director. The Deputy Organizing Director will gain valuable staff and program

management experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

● Train, and manage a team of Regional Organizing Directors to meet capacity-building, voter

contact, and relational goals.

● Work with Iowa state leadership to develop and implement communications, digital, messaging,

and organizing programs in different regions of the state.

● Build and maintain relationships with local political leaders and stakeholders to cultivate buy-in to

the campaign.

● Build and implement systems and structures to lead regions to successfully meet daily and

weekly goals, as well as maintain data integrity.

● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

● At least two cycles of organizing experience, including one cycle of staff management

experience, is required.

● Strong commitment to Democratic ideals and passionate about electing Amy Klobuchar

● Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

● Ability to communicate priorities, needs, and expectations to Regional Organizing Directors and

statewide leadership.

● Ability to motivate, challenge, and encourage Regional Organizing Directors,

● Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

● Technologically savvy and familiar with campaign technology, including Google Suite and

Votebuilder.

● Available to work long and varying campaign hours including weekends, nights, and holidays.

● An understanding of traditional, relational and distributed organizing techniques and

philosophies.

● A commitment to challenging existing assumptions and willingness to think outside the box on a

daily basis

● A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.

Travel Expectations: Travel throughout Iowa is expected.
