Position Description:

Progressive Organizing Solutions is hiring a Regional Field Director (RFD) for large-scale membership mobilization and issue advocacy campaigns in Reno, NV it is conducting on behalf of the League of Conservation Voters (LCV). The RFD will work with the in-state leadership team to plan and execute events, oversee field organizers day-to-day work and ensure the region follows the statewide plan and meets and exceeds metric goals. The Progressive Organizing Solutions RFD will manage and train field organizers in Reno, NV in issue and electoral advocacy, and volunteer engagement as part of the campaigns

The League of Conservation Voters works to turn environmental values into national, state, and local priorities.  Protecting our environment requires massive grassroots support. In eight states, LCV has developed a powerful volunteer organizing structure engaging nearly 32,000 volunteers across the country to make phone calls, knock on doors, attend events and advocate on behalf of climate action. LCV’s priority is to ensure our efforts to protect and advocate the environment are rooted in a deep understanding of racial, social and environmental justice. LCV prioritizes racial diversity and inclusivity as core values and is committed to creating opportunities for communities of color to participate in the democratic process.

Responsibilities:

·       Manage and train organizers in issue advocacy and grassroots organizing.

·       Ensure all volunteer outreach and engagement is tracked in VAN and reports are submitted daily.

·       Assist in planning and execution of organizing actions and events.

·       Develop relationships with environmental and other progressive leaders in the community and engage them in field events and activities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency with racially diverse audiences
  • Fluency in VAN, Microsoft Office Suite; other field tools a plus
  • 2+ years community, issue, labor or political organizing (1-2 cycle equivalent)
  • Work hours vary from standard office hours and include Saturdays
  • Have your own reliable transportation
  • Successful experience working with teams representing a rich mix of talent, backgrounds, and perspectives
  • Experience working on an issue campaign, especially environmental a plus

 

Duration: This position is full-time, salaried and temporary.
